Replacing Windows in Winter: An Overview of the Process

Window replacement is tricky enough, but what if you’re doing it during winter? Winter is especially challenging when it comes to home improvement because of the high humidity due to snow and worksite debris. Plus, most homeowners think (mistakenly) that it’s more expensive to install windows during winter.

Replacing Windows in Winter

Today, Renewal by Andersen® of Wyoming outlines how we install our windows, which makes the entire procedure as easy as possible even if it’s in the dead of winter.

Site Preparation

The first thing we do once we arrive at your home is to prepare the area where we need the work, the surrounding area and a path into and outside your house. We will also lay out protective sheets over your furniture and other appliances that can be affected by the dust and debris.

Window Installation

When we’re done preparing the site, we make sure to work on one window at a time to minimize heat loss. This entails removing one window and then replacing it before moving to the next one in line. We’ll automatically apply fixes and adjustments should they be necessary, but if it’s a larger kind of issue – such as the size of the window holes – we’d make sure to tell you about your options.

We will dispose of the old windows as well. We also make sure the seals are holding, apply foam around the window frames, remove the film on the glass and polish it to high sheen.

Wrapping Up

Our installers are trained to clean up after themselves, including the protective sheeting we use. We will also tell you how to operate your new window units and leave you with a way to contact us (including calling your attention to your window unit’s unique serial number) if you encounter any problems with the product.

Renewal by Andersen of Wyoming is the leading window contractor in the area, and our installation process has been refined and honed through thousands of man-hours on the job. Reviews

"We absolutely love our new windows. We had an awful wind yesterday and the windows keep the breeze and the sound out. Our previous windows did not do that and we are so happy with the quality and the installation was superb. The guys were professional and did a great job. I would recommend this company to any who want to improve their home. "
